The Hueman Experience by
Joshua Lilly
The aim of these creations is to capture and emit what it means to be human, what it feels to experience being a human. The one thing we all share is this very idea. The human experience is a full spectrum of emotions, thoughts, and essences we still can’t define or articulate. The dark and the light, the “good” and the “bad”.
This collection of work is the attempt to push towards capturing the full human experience.
Joshua Lilly is a Chicagoland based artist, born and raised in the southwest suburbs of the midwestern city. Lilly is heavily influenced by art he revisited over the years homed at the Art Institute of Chicago. Artwork including pieces created by Pablo Picasso, Salvidor Dali, Rene Magritte, and Kurt Seligmann.
Lilly aims to create art that covers a multitude of artistic styles, with the goal to not pigeon-hole himself into one stylistic box. Creating work that falls within the realms of surrealism and modernism.
